Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Vyond animation media based on Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) on Arabic speaking skills (maharah kalam) at the higher education level. The primary challenge in contemporary Arabic language learning is the dominance of conventional methods, which leads to low student participation and high levels of speaking anxiety. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group model. The sample consisted of 41 students, purposively divided into an experimental class (N=21) and a control class (N=20} Data were collected through structured oral tests validated using performance rubrics. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the experimental class achieved a post-test mean score of 82.48, significantly higher than the control class, which obtained an average of 68.50. The hypothesis test via Independent Samples T-test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 with a t-value of 7.188, confirming a strong positive effect of the intervention. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain score of 0.58 (58.3%) placed this media in the quite effective category for enhancing students' communicative performance. These findings indicate that the integration of Vyond media with the TBLT approach successfully creates interactive visual contexts, reduces psychological barriers, and encourages more authentic language production. Pedagogically, this research recommends the use of digital animation media as an alternative strategy to enrich Arabic language teaching methodologies in the digital era.

Absrtak
