Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Indonesian Review of English Education, Linguistics, and Literature  (IREELL) must comply with the Focus and Scope and follow the Author Guidelines. This journal is committed to the novelty of education research. Any submissions that offer new contributions to the development of advance knowledge in English language education are welcome.

Authors are advised to strictly comply with Ethical Standards regarding the conduct of research that contain potential risks that influence or change human psychological conditions.

Manuscripts should be formatted according to the pattern of scientific journal writing. The rules set forth in the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual 7th Edition must be followed. You can use Mendeley or Zotero reference management software, and select settings for the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition. Manuscripts submitted to this journal are permitted to be written in English or Indonesian. It is preferred that manuscripts in English or Indonesian follow good grammatical standards.

Authors need to confirm that their work has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. To verify authenticity, all manuscripts will be checked by plagiarism detection software. Authors are advised to use online services from TurnitinTM or iThenticateTM to check similarities. The editors of this journal will also check the similarity using the same online service (with a maximum similarity threshold of 25%, according to the TurnitinTM results output).

All manuscripts submitted to this journal will be reviewed behind closed doors (single-blind peer review), which means the author's identity is kept secret from the reviewers, and vice versa. All manuscripts will be assessed first by the Editor in Chief regarding their suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable by the Editor are usually sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. If necessary, a third reviewer is needed to provide important recommendations for the article. The editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editorial Decision is final.

The final decision on accepting a manuscript is made entirely by the Editor-in-Chief and/or Editor-in-Chief (together with the Editorial Board, if necessary) based on the reviewer's critical comments (but not solely by the Reviewer).

Publication of accepted articles, including the assignment of articles to published publications, will be carried out by the Editor-in-Chief taking into account the order of acceptance dates and the geographical distribution of authors and thematic publications.
