Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of multiple-choice items in the Final Summative Assessment covering Material Scope or Asesmen Sumatif Akhir Lingkup Materi (ASALM) for Grade X Indonesian language, based on the aspects of content, construction, and language. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing 40 items through a document study of the test items, the item blueprint, the answer key, and other supporting documents. The data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. According to the findings, 80% of the things matched the learning indicators in terms of content, but the material was not yet uniformly distributed since negotiation texts accounted for 40% of the items. In addition, lower-order thinking skills (LOTS) items (60%) continue to make up the majority of the products, while higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) items only make up 30% of them. While weaknesses were still discovered in the arrangement of the answer options, 85% of the items adhere to the writing rules in terms of construction. In term of language, there were a few writing mistakes, erratic use of language, and sentences that might be interpreted in more than one way. Overall, the quality of the items is rather good, but more improvement is still needed in terms of content balance, language usage, item construction, and the percentage of HOTS items to make them more in line with the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum).
